Product Designer — with 20+ years of experience.

HI THERE, I’M DAVID
I create end-to-end digital experiences across consumer products advertising and financial services
Over 20 years designing digital products at scale — from global advertising campaigns at Yahoo! reaching hundreds of millions of users, to a decade at NatWest across trading platforms, mortgages, payments, investments and fraud, serving 20m+ customers.
The work includes the UK's first Automated Investment Advice service for 5m+ customers, a redesigned trading platform generating £1.47bn+ in annual income, and a white-label UI framework adopted across NatWest, RBS and Coutts.
I work end-to-end — from research and discovery through to delivery — with a focus on making complex products simple, trustworthy and intuitive for the people who use them every day

COLOUR ACADEMY
I truly believe in the beauty and rhythm of colour and typography
As a university student, I had the privilege of collaborating with Don Pavey, a retired Royal College of Art teacher who became both my mentor and a dear friend. His research into the psychology of colour, symbolism, and perception profoundly shaped my approach to design.

Together, we explored Carl Jung’s theories of Thinking, Feeling, Sensation, and Intuition, examining how these psychological functions influence the way people experience visual communication. Our collaboration led to the publication of several books, now held in the Royal College of Art Library.

The experience shaped the way I approach design today: combining strategic thinking with an understanding of human psychology to create work that is not only functional, but meaningful.

PASSION
Photography
Photography has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I learned with a film camera, where every frame had to earn its place. It taught me that great images aren't found by chance—they come from patience, observation and knowing when the moment is right. Since then, I've always chased more than just a good shot—it's about the mood, the little details, the feeling of actually being there.
